NOMFUNDO MOH

AMI FAKU

Ami Faku is featured on Tresor’s latest single smoke and mirrors because of her distinctive voice, which brings a new and different sound to the song.

 

Ami Faku comes from Port Elizabeth and often sings in isiXhosa, but loves to explain the stories behind her music.

 

Ami Faku’s debut single, Imali, was released in 2018 and last year she had five different songs in the Top 100 on local radio stations.

 

Ami Faku shares her personal life through her songs, which is why they’re so relatable.

TNS’s real name is Nkazimulo Ngema, he is young but an exceptionally talented singer, DJ, and producer. 

 

TNS is widely recognized for hits such as Banomoya, My Dali, and Club Controller. 

 

In 2017, TNS said that Prince Kaybee wanted to buy his song, Club Controller. He intended to take full credit for the song, but TNS requested a 50/50 share of the song. 

 

TNS grew up in the streets but his passion and desire to fight for what he believes in kept him going despite all these difficulties. 

 

TNS was born on 18th July 2000 in Mandeni, KwaZulu-Natal South Africa.

BLXCKIE

 

Blxckie was announced as the first South African artist to be featured in Apple Music’s Up Next Program.

 

Sihle Sithole, popularly known as Blxckie, is a South African rapper, songwriter, and music producer.

 

Blxckie is a part of the rising musical movement, Clout Internet Boyz. A group of Durban rappers who release music together and share their take on Trap music.

DJ Stokie’s real name is Setoki Mbatha.

 

DJ Stokie was born and brought up in the township of Soweto where he started deejaying at a very early age.

 

DJ Stokie began his career in the early 2000s, performing at local bars and parties. 

 

DJ Stokie released his debut album, Amapiano Movement, Volume 1, on December 13th, 2019, the first of more episodes to come.

Muni Long’s real name is Priscilla Renea Hamilton and she was born September 14, 1988.

Rouge’s debut album The New Era Sessions, accompanied by a short film, received a South African Film and Television Award for Best Micro Budget Film.

 

Rouge is of DR Congolese descent as both her parents were born in Congo.

 

Rouge started songwriting at the age of 12, which resulted in her taking part in acting, public speaking and poetry.

 

Rouge started rapping at the age of 19, when her friend suggested she should rap to her own R&B songs she composed.

 

Rouge attended the University of Pretoria, where she completed her degree in Drama & Film.

 

LEMON & HERB

Lemon and Herb have been friends since childhood, and it has helped to have a synergy that pushes their sound.

 

Lemon and Herb is a music production hub comprising of Skhumbuzo Radebe and Don Sithole.

 

Lemon and Herb are all about Afrobeats, Techy Sounds, Futuristic melodies, and lush soundscapes are what the group is about. 

 

Black Coffee asked the duo to name who was Lemon in the group and they explained the group name reflected neither of them and they did not want a name that will box their sound.

 

Lemon and Herb credit their passion for house music to the late 90’s compilation albums local DJs put out and the explosion of house music on South African radio.

 

 

TPZEE & Q,MARK

TpZee and Q-Mark’s song Paris has racked up more than 3 million views since October 2021.

 

Q-Mark, TpZee, and Afriikan Papi delivered impressive verses on their single ‘Paris’.

 

Paris is an Amapaino inspired record with lovely instrumentals and lyrical flows from the South African singers Q-Mark and TpZee.

DJ Maphorisa took to social media to make it known that he is the only person in the world who can feature himself. 

 

DJ Maphorisa was named on the 100 most influential young South Africans by Avance media.

 

He is the AmaPiano pioneer and influenced upcoming AmaPiano artists to enter the industry and start making AmaPiano genre music.

 

DJ Maphorisa took to social media t reveal the artist that put him on AmaPiano, being Nigerian award-winning star Wizkid.

In 2014, Doja Cat produced another album, which contained singles such as ‘So High’ and ‘Wanna Party’.
