Skepta has been made a chief in his parents’ hometown in Nigeria

British Grime MC Skepta has been honored with a chieftaincy title in Ijebu-Ode in Ogun State in South West, Nigeria.

Skepta has been in Nigeria for a few weeks now, preparing for a homecoming concert to which he has invited the of J Hus, Not3s, Wizkid and Davido to perform at. But what his fans didn’t know is that he also made the most of this trip to take care of a really important matter.

Indeed, as he showcased it on his social media account, Skepta, born Joseph Junior Adenuga, 36, was presented with the Chieftaincy title on Wednesday, April 4. The ceremony took place in Ijebu-Ode, Skepta’s parents’ hometown during which he was given the title of Amuludun of Odo-Aje that can be translated to Chief entertainer.

I am honoured and will continue to put time and love into Nigeria, especially the community of Odo Aje,” Skepta said on Instagram.
