Sabina Karlsson,Giannina Oteto & more star in L’Oréal’s new diverse campaign

2017 is already making big moves !

Inclusivity, diversity and representation seem to be experiencing a visible upswing in the realms of fashion and beauty right now. At the beginning, big fashion magazines made major strides in 2016 when it came to showcasing diversity in cover castings, and now a distinct trend toward increasingly diverse representation has emerged amongst mass beauty brands  the latest example to date  being the new True Match campaign by L’Oréal that debuted on January 8th during the Golden Globes.

In addition to having model, actress and transgender activist Hari Nef, the campaign, that shows how to embrace one’s ethnic heritage via his/hers foundation choice also includes a wonderfully diverse array of brand ambassadors: models Sabina Karlsson, Giannina Oteto, Dominique Babineaux, Ju Xiaowen, Marquita Pring and Alexina Graham all make appearances, as do Olivia Culpo and a very pregnant Blake Lively. The campaign also features several influencer/slash-models: Cipriana Quann, Aja Dang and Arpana Rayamajhi.

But that’s not all ! Late 2016, a new trend popped up : Makeup brands introduced male brand ambassadors via Covergirl and Maybelline . So what did L’Oréal’s do to empower this new mouvement?  They simply got Darnell Bernard as a new face and owned it.
