The return of the diva
Mariah Carey made a triumphant return last week to real-time television with a passionate performance of her new breakup song on Jimmy Kimmel Live. It was the first live public performance for the 46-year-old pop star since her disastrous NYE appearance in Times Square that was cut short due to audio issues.
Mariah performed her breakup song I Don’t in a red gown with plunging neckline, dangling hoop earrings, bracelets and necklace and YG hit the stage looking sharp in a white jacket and matching trousers.
And to contrary relief Mariah was very happy to be back on stage. Carey’s manager, Stella Bulochnikov, spoke after Carey taped her Kimmel performance, and said that the “Without You” singer was “so happy and so excited” to be singing her new track on the late night show, adding that her performance was “brilliant, as always.”
